Latina & Hispanic Designers Illustrations
Project Outline
This project was to help me experiment with portrait illustration. I chose this article to create illustrations for because I knew there was so much potential. The original article had very cool tones and inconsistent photography styles throughout. Some artists had very high quality portraits while others had a plain selfie. I wanted to add more color and culture to this web article.
Made in Procreate.
The Process
I used procreate to trace over the portraits provided. I used a bold line with each design and simplified some of the facial features. I added the fill of color based off of the artists’ personal websites/works. The original banner for the article was a blue gradient. I created a banner that was inspired by Hispanic weaving techniques and included several bold colors found throughout Hispanic and Latin designs.
