Eagle Eye Magazine
Project Outline
For my magazine production class, I created the cover design and 4 spreads for the school’s Eagle Eye magazine. Throughout the semester I was given a story that I must use to create either a spread or a single-page design. The spreads shown here were selected by the class and were published in the Spring 2023 edition.
As an established magazine, there were set guidelines that I had to follow. This included having a drop cap with a 3-line drop. The font must be Californian FB. The information included in all spreads includes credits to photos used, authors, and layout designers. A QR code on the back of the magazine was required. Page numbers had to be set to 16-point font.

The Process
This edition of Eagle Eye involved mainly stories about health, motivation, and happiness. I thought it was suiting for this to be called the “Inner Strength Edition”. I knew for the cover I wanted the image used to be displaying the same theme. Since this was a TN Tech magazine, I chose to stick with the purple and gold throughout the spreads I designed. This would give an overall cohesive look to the magazine.

Magazine Cover Design won Honorable Mention, Division 1, Best Magazine Cover Design, at the College Media Pinnacle Awards. (August, 2023)
Contents Spread won 2nd Place, Division 1, Best Magazine Contents Page/Spread from the College Media Association at their NYC Apple Awards. (March, 2024)
